Founder & Team
PlayKorte is built by a small, focused team combining product, engineering, and design experience with deep grounding in Philippine recreational sports.
Founder
PlayKorte is led by Josiah Maraat, Founder & CEO. Josiah is a registered nurse (RN) and long-time recreational athlete who has coached CrossFit and hosted guests through platforms like Airbnb.
He is building PlayKorte as a focused court-booking and payments platform for everyday players and small, often family-run facilities in the Philippines, with a long-term view toward improving access to sport across Southeast Asia.
Product, Engineering & Design
PlayKorte's product and platform are shaped by a small core team:
Keene – product-minded engineer focused on architecture and bringing the backend and player experience together.
Mikkel – backend engineer focused on booking logic, payments, and reliability.
Jae ("Mimi") – product designer leading the interface, flows, and overall usability for both players and facilities.
The team is based primarily in the Philippines and works directly with local facilities and players to ensure PlayKorte reflects real on-the-ground needs rather than abstract assumptions.
